Biography
Sean Taasan, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in the treatment of myeloma, Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, and amyloidosis.
Dr. Taasan earned his medical degree at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center and gained advanced training through a hematology and oncology fellowship at UT Southwestern, where he served as Chief Fellow.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Taasan joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.
Dr. Taasan is Co-Leader of the Advanced Practice Provider Professional Skills Development Program at the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
In 2024, Dr. Taasan received the Outstanding Achievement in Patient Care Award from the UT Southwestern Hematology and Oncology Fellowship Program.
Personal Note
When he’s not at work, Dr. Taasan enjoys playing tennis, practicing photography, and traveling.
