Biography

Sheila Modi, M.D., is a Clinician Educator in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in primary care, with an emphasis on patient education and shared decision making.

Dr. Modi earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, serving as Chief Resident. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Modi joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2023. Previously, she served as a hospitalist at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, and the Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center.

Personal Note

When she’s not at work, Dr. Modi enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, reading, practicing yoga, dancing, and looking at birds.
