Biography

Tatiana Portela, APRN, ANP-BC, is a board-certified adult nurse practitioner (NP) in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.

Mrs. Portela completed her undergraduate nursing degree from Adelphi University in New York. She earned her master’s degree from Stony Brook University, becoming an adult/geriatric nurse practitioner in 2014. She has worked in internal medicine since 2016 and has experience in cardiovascular disease and women's health.

She has completed the Obesity Management in Primary Care Certificate Program through the American Academy of Physician Associates and The Obesity Society. She also precepts advanced practice provider students and participates in UT Southwestern’s mentorship program.

Mrs. Portela is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Personal Note

When she’s not working, Mrs. Portela enjoys strength training, exercising, and attending her children’s sporting events.
