Biography
Timbria Burke, M.S., CGC, is a board-certified genetic counselor who joined UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Cancer Genetics Program in 2025. She counsels patients who are at risk for hereditary cancer syndromes in multiple clinics across Dallas.
Ms. Burke earned her Master of Science in genetic counseling from the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in 2025.
Her interests include increasing diversity within the genetic counseling profession and supporting the inclusion of minority genetic counselors and genetic counseling students. She also has a passion for mentorship and improving access to genetic counseling and testing within historically disadvantaged communities.
Ms. Burke is a co-founder of the Black Genetic Counseling Student Association (BGCSA), established in 2023.
