The Total Care Program for Parkinson’s disease is an initiative of the Peter O’Donnell Jr. Brain Institute to support families facing a diagnosis of a neurodegenerative disorder such as Parkinson’s or a form of Parkinsonism and to provide them with the practical resources and tools they need to live well with the illness.

At the heart of the Total Care Program for Parkinson’s disease is our focus on the whole patient. We believe that in addition to high-quality medical care, families also need information, education, and resources not only to adjust to the demands of the illness but to enhance their quality of life.

With these needs and priorities in mind, our Total Care Program for Parkinson’s disease offers a personalized approach to all of the programming at UT Southwestern's Movement Disorders clinic. Our program includes virtual and live educational events, care navigation, community-building, and other support opportunities.

The need for support and community goes beyond the excellent clinical care our patients receive. Our focus on the whole patient is intended to empower families as well amid the medical challenges their loved one faces.
