Biography

Collin Vas, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in diagnosing and treating mood and anxiety disorders.

Dr. Vas earned his medical degree at St. John’s Medical College in Bangalore, India. He completed two residencies in psychiatry, first at Christian Medical College in Vellore, India, and then at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He received additional postgraduate training in psychiatry from the North Eastern Health Board in Ireland.

Board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2007.

Dr. Vas’ clinical interests include bipolar disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychiatric illnesses associated with Parkinson’s disease, deep brain stimulation, vagal nerve stimulation, and the clinical applications of clozapine and lithium.
