Biography

Daniel James Ellis, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in interventional endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), pancreaticobiliary disorders, and therapeutic endoscopy.

Dr. Ellis earned his medical degree at McGill University in Quebec, Canada. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and a gastroenterology fellowship at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, followed by a fellowship in advanced endoscopy at UT Southwestern.

Certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Ellis joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. Ellis’s research interests include endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), interventional endoscopic ultrasound, and pancreaticobiliary disease. He has presented widely and published numerous articles and case reports in peer-reviewed journals related to his areas of interest.

Dr. Ellis is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

Personal Note

In his spare time, Dr. Ellis enjoys spending time with his family, reading, cooking, playing chess, and hockey.
