Biography

Erica M. Jones, M.D., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in stroke treatment and prevention.

Dr. Jones earned both her medical degree and master’s of public health in epidemiology at Tulane University. She completed a residency in neurology at Emory University and received advanced training in vascular neurology through a fellowship at the UT Health Science Center at Houston.

Certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Jones’ clinical and research interests include health disparities in stroke care, global access to stroke care, and the effect of social determinants of health on stroke outcomes. She has delivered numerous invited lectures and published several academic articles related to these topics. In addition, she is a site investigator and co-investigator in national clinical trials that are advancing research in treatment of cerebrovascular diseases.

She serves on multiple institutional, regional, and national committees and is a member of the Stroke Editor Training Program as well as the American Academy of Neurology, the American Heart Association, and the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology.
