Biography
Hongzhao Ji, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is a general otolaryngologist (ENT) with a broad scope of practice, including endoscopic ear surgery, nasal airway obstruction, sinus disease, salivary gland disorders, thyroid surgery, facial trauma, and sleep apnea surgery with implanted hypoglossal nerve stimulators.
Dr. Ji earned his medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in otolaryngology at UT Southwestern, where he also is currently earning a master’s degree in health informatics.
Board certified in general otolaryngology, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.
Dr. Ji serves on multiple UT Southwestern Committees relating to health informatics and the implementation of technology into health care, including the Electronic Consent Governing Committee and the OR Black Box Steering Committee, and he is involved in numerous quality improvement and informatics projects.
He has published numerous academic articles, contributed to two books, and delivered several presentations related to his areas of expertise, and he is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology.
In 2019, Dr. Ji received the Chief Resident Research Award from UT Southwestern.
