Maliha Khan, M.D.

Biography

Maliha Khan, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in primary care with a focus on cancer survivorship and palliative medicine.

Dr. Khan earned her medical degree at the University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School and a master’s degree in public health from UTHealth Houston. She then completed a residency in family medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She received advanced training through a hospice and palliative medicine fellowship, also at UT Southwestern.

Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2026.

Dr. Khan is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association.

She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in 2024. In 2025, she earned UT Southwestern’s Inpatient Resident of the Year Award.

When she's not at work, Dr. Khan enjoys spending time with family, reading, and traveling.
