Rebecca Eary, D.O.

Biography

Rebecca L. Eary, D.O., M.P.H., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She is a primary care physician and researcher who specializes in cancer survivorship, management of complicated chronic conditions, implications of social determinants of health, and cancer prevention. She has more than 15 years of clinical experience across academic, community, and safety-net settings, with a focus on advancing cancer survivorship care with particular attention to adult survivors of childhood, adolescent, and young adult cancers.

Dr. Eary leads the Simmons Cancer Center Oncology Primary Care at Survivorship Clinic at UT Southwestern. She cares for patients with complex medical needs, including those with histories of multiple cancers, chronic conditions, or elevated risk for future cancers. Dr. Eary also serves as a fellowship director and contributes to the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows in cancer survivorship.

Dr. Eary earned her medical degree at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in family medicine at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Illinois. She also holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Physicians, Dr. Eary joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the North American Primary Care Research Group, and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.
