Zaiba Jetpuri, D.O., M.B.A., CPH, FAAFP, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
A Dallas-Fort Worth native, Dr. Jetpuri is from Richardson, Texas. She earned her undergraduate degrees in biology and business administration, as well as her Master of Business Administration, from the University of Texas at Dallas. She completed medical school at the UNT Health Fort Worth Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by residency training in family medicine at UT Southwestern and Parkland Memorial Hospital.
During her residency, Dr. Jetpuri developed strong interests in preventive medicine, pediatrics, medical education, and community health. Her scholarly work focused on pediatric access to care and community-based research initiatives, earning her a departmental distinction in pediatrics. Additionally, she completed a Certificate in Public Health through UTHealth Houston and later pursued advanced training in integrative medicine through the University of Arizona Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine.
Dr. Jetpuri joined the faculty of UT Southwestern in 2013. She is board-certified in family medicine and is committed to helping her patients lead healthier lives by providing holistic care that emphasizes prevention, patient education, and shared decision-making.
She enjoys caring for patients across all stages of life and has a particular interest in women’s health, preventive medicine, and chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia, with an emphasis on early detection. She values building long-term relationships with patients and families and believes strongly in empowering patients through education and collaborative-care approaches that support overall physical, emotional, and community well-being.
In addition to her institutional leadership roles, Dr. Jetpuri is active nationally in family medicine education through the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
At UT Southwestern, Dr. Jetpuri is the Residency Program Director for Family Medicine and is actively involved in undergraduate and graduate medical education, curriculum development, faculty development, and resident mentorship. She has received multiple awards recognizing excellence in teaching, leadership, mentorship, and patient care.
When she’s not at work, Dr. Jetpuri participates in community health fairs and enjoys spending time with her four children, exploring new restaurants, and visiting local parks and museums.
