Meet our team.
Education
As one of the six largest residency programs in the country, the department consistently attracts a superior quality of residents and has a long history of excellence in educating anesthesiologists and promoting the field of anesthesiology.
Our diverse and accomplished faculty of nearly 200 spans several well-respected hospitals to offer the breadth and depth of anesthesia training as represented by our ACGME-accredited fellowship programs and then some! Our clinical education combined with a thoughtful didactic curriculum, state-of-the art simulation training, and longitudinal experiences in Point-of-Care-Ultrasound (POCUS), Quality Improvement, and Research allows for the development of the next generation of anesthesiology leaders. The education program has provided exceptional training to medical trainees for seventy-five years, seeking to develop the physicians of tomorrow with the skills and leadership from physicians of today.
We offer nine ACGME-accredited fellowships after anesthesiology training within our own department. Most recently, we have expanded to offer Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology. A Clinical Informatics Fellowship is also offered to all UTSW Fellows through the Department of Pediatrics. The ACGME accredited program will offer two fellowships per year with any primary specialty.
