Biography

Heather Fisher, M.S., is a Certified Genetic Counselor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in genetic counseling for patients who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy.

Ms. Fisher earned her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling in 2009 at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. She spent 10 years working as a prenatal genetic counselor in Manhattan and the San Francisco Bay Area. She also worked for several years in the pediatric genetics and Down syndrome clinics at Children’s Medical Center Dallas.

Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling, she joined UT Southwestern in 2022. She sees patients both in person and virtually and is fluent in Spanish as well as English.

Ms. Fisher has delivered several poster presentations and authored academic articles related to her areas of expertise.

Personal Note

In her free time, she enjoys biking, gardening with her kids, and testing out new recipes in the kitchen.
