Biography

Eric Shellhorn, M.S.N., APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the Department of Psychiatry. He has extensive experience treating a variety of mood disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and thought disorders including schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder. Mr. Shellhorn works with all populations, and has an interest in working with college students, the terminally ill, and those with comorbid medical illnesses. He has worked at UT Southwestern since 1998 and has served as a RN in ambulatory services, before becoming a nurse practitioner. He is an East Dallas native, and graduated from both undergraduate and graduate level programs at University of Texas at Arlington, where he now serves as a nursing student preceptor.
