A Team Approach to the Future of Medicine
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center prioritizes a team approach that allows a commitment to superb patient care, exceptional educational programs, and innovative research initiatives. Our 47 orthopaedic specialists offer a multidisciplinary approach to care across six locations and were the first in North Texas to use a female-specific prosthetic for knee replacement.

Research
The department benefits from access to multiple research cores and collaborative investigators at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Scottish Rite for Children, enabling us to perform comprehensive molecular, cellular, biochemical, and biomechanical investigations of the musculoskeletal system.

Education
We offer a variety of educational opportunities for medical students, residents, and physicians. Education programs include the Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship and the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency, as well as daily conferences, monthly mortality and morbidity conferences, a journal club, and weekly resident conferences featuring case presentations and faculty-directed conferences.
