Biography
Srinivas Chivukula, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurological Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in functional and epilepsy neurosurgery.
Dr. Chivukula earned his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed a residency in neurological surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also gained advanced training through a fellowship in functional and epilepsy neurosurgery. He also holds a doctoral degree in biology, the brain, and the biological bases of human behavior and cognition from the California Institute of Technology.
He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
Dr. Chivukula’s clinical interests include movement disorder surgeries, surgeries for facial pain, deep brain stimulation, focused ultrasound, microvascular decompression, trigeminal rhizotomy, surgeries for peripheral nerve injuries and tumors, epilepsy surgery, general cranial neurosurgery, and general spine neurosurgery.
He has delivered many presentations and published numerous academic articles related to his areas of expertise. He also contributed to the books Transsphenoidal Surgery and Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy.
