The Headache/Concussion Program at UT Southwestern Pediatric Group at Plano provides timely and comprehensive headache and concussion care to children, helping to keep them out of the Emergency Department and providing specialist care in a more comfortable environment.
Our pediatric neurology program is ranked No. 21 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its Best Children’s Hospital 2022-2023 rankings, and we have one of the nation’s premier treatment centers for brain trauma.
We are also at the forefront of new neurologic discoveries and brain research to pioneer new evaluations and treatments.
Concussion Care
Our multidisciplinary concussion program provides comprehensive patient care for concussions and traumatic brain injury (TBI) resulting from sports injuries, accidents, falls, and other scenarios. Our team includes physicians, neuropsychologists, and nurse practitioners who are trained specialists in brain injuries, as well as physical, speech, and occupational therapists. We know how important routines are to children – and we work collaboratively to get kids back to their school and sport activities safely.
Headache Care
Our pediatric specialists offer expert care for children who experience chronic headaches, including cluster headaches and migraine headaches. Our neurologists are board certified in headache medicine, and our nurse practitioners are trained in this specialty.
