Dallas Young Adult Cancer Support

Being diagnosed with cancer in your 20s or 30s can be complicated and lonely, which is why the Young Adult Cancer Support (YACS) Program was formed at Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center – to provide a place of connection and community for people of similar age who are going through the same things.

Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center seeks to encourage, strengthen, and empower young adults by providing support groups and social activities.

Young Adult Support Group

When: Last Tuesday of each month from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

Where: Thompson Family Conference Room, 3rd floor, Cancer Care Outpatient Building

Yoga: Yoga is also offered for this group from 6 - 7 p.m. at the same location.

To RSVP or for more information, please contact Supportive Care via email or text/call 214-267-UTYA (8892).

"When You're Ready, We're Here for You"

YACS meets monthly, both in person and virtually, and is a safe space for sharing, encouraging, or just listening. Hear from a few members about what the program means to them – and meet Tia, the Cancer Center's facility dog who has become the group's mascot.

About Our Planning Committee

Our planning committee – a dedicated group of young adult patients who volunteer their time to inform and coordinate events – meets throughout the year to ensure we have plenty of opportunities for patients to connect.
