Contact Us at 833-722-6237

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s comprehensive nicotine cessation program is devoted to helping you or someone you care about quit smoking, vaping, or using any nicotine and tobacco products.

Our program offers:

  • Appointments with a physician who can prescribe medicines to ease cravings and other withdrawal symptoms
  • One-on-one sessions with certified tobacco treatment specialists who can help you manage your nicotine triggers
  • Group support - for extra encouragement from those who understand the challenges of quitting
  • Convenient visits by phone or video conference

Appointments are free. However, there may be a cost for medicines or nicotine replacements if you choose to use those. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that works best for you.

To talk about our program or to schedule your virtual care visit, call 833-722-6237 or email NicotineCessationProgram@utsouthwestern.edu.

Understanding the Quit Journey

The path to becoming nicotine-free can feel overwhelming at first. You might be wondering if quitting is for you. In Understanding the Quit Journey, we describe the physical, social, and mental aspects of breaking a nicotine addiction. Program graduate Albert Goodall shares what motivated him to stop smoking and why he’s happy he quit.

Still unsure about where you are on the journey to quitting? Our interactive survey, Nicotine Cessation: Understanding Where You Are, has tips and feedback to help you think it through.

Lung Cancer Screening

Because early detection is so important, UT Southwestern offers a low-dose CT lung cancer screening to look for early signs of changes that can be detected and treated in people who are at the highest risk for developing lung cancer. Learn more about our CT screening for lung cancer, find out whether you might be a good candidate for screening, or read our lung cancer guide (PDF).
