Biography

John D. Clark III, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in preventive medicine and weight management.

Dr. Clark earned both his medical degree and doctorate in epidemiology and public health at the University of Miami. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2015.

Dr. Clark’s academic interests include medical student and resident education, as well as research in quality improvement and population health. He also serves as an Associate Chief Quality Officer and Medical Director for Performance Improvement at Southwestern Health Resources.

He is a member of The Obesity Society, the American College of Preventive Medicine, the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, and the Society of General Internal Medicine.
