At William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, patient and visitor safety is a top priority. Our staff is fully committed to preventing infections, accidents, and injuries, and our facility is designed to enhance safety in multiple ways.
Materials Transportation
Like many hospitals, we use a pneumatic tube system to transfer specimen samples, such as blood, between various departments. This fast and efficient approach also helps minimize safety concerns associated with delivering samples by hand.
Clements University Hospital also features an innovative chute system that quickly whisks trash and used linen away from patient areas to help prevent infections. This behind-the-scenes method creates a safer, cleaner environment.
Air Filtration
Our sophisticated air filtration system provides fresher, cleaner air throughout the hospital, which also helps reduce the risk of infections.
Attention to Detail
Our building was designed with safety in mind, and no detail is too small:
- Throughout the hospital, carefully-selected floor colors allow staff to easily spot dropped items, which helps prevent accidents and injuries.
- Supply cabinets are located outside each patient’s room, enabling staff to remain close to their patients.
- Sinks in patient rooms are located in clear sight of patients, so they can rest assured that their caregivers are washing their hands frequently to prevent infection.
- Bacteria resistant surfaces help reduce the spread of viruses.
