What to Expect
If you visit Clements University Hospital with a general internal medicine need, you may be assigned a hospitalist who will be primarily responsible for your care.
Examples of conditions that may involve a hospitalist include:
- Pneumonia
- Cellulitis and other infections
- Metabolic abnormalities
- Cardiac problems that don’t require a cardiologist
- Kidney failure and other kidney problems
- COPD, asthma
Our hospitalist will conduct an examination and, if necessary, order tests, prescribe therapies, and consult with specialists.
