The hospital is a state-of-the-art facility, where high-quality care is delivered in an environment designed, first and foremost, to meet the needs of patients and their families.
At William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital, patients are treated in a state-of-the-art facility where every aspect of the hospital was designed with the care and comfort of patients and their families in mind.
Patients have spacious individual rooms with large windows that allow in abundant natural light, which has been shown to improve healing and a sense of well-being.
All patient rooms have an ergonomically designed sleeper sofa, allowing family members to comfortably stay overnight with a loved one.
With a remote at their bedside, patients are able to control their immediate surroundings (including lighting, temperature, and window shades), and even order meals and snacks.
Each patient room has Wi-Fi, so patients and family members spending time with them can stay connected to the world using their laptops and portable electronic devices.
Privacy and providing a peaceful, quiet environment were priorities in the design process. The hospital's innovative layout allows deliveries of most supplies to bypass patient hallways, reducing the noise and activity that can disturb patients' rest.
For patients, the process of checking into the hospital, navigating it, and being discharged have all been made easier. One distinctive feature is a special patient discharge area, so that when patients are ready to leave the hospital, they can do so, with whatever assistance they need, more privately and quietly than going through the main entrance.
Outside, creatively designed landscaping surrounds Clements University Hospital, creating a calming environment that helps reduce stress for patients and their families.
