For nearly 80 years, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern in Dallas has been safeguarding and enhancing the health of women and their babies.

We have one of the largest Ob/Gyn departments in the United States, and one of every 270 babies in the nation is born here – which means that every day we deliver 35-55 babies (essentially two kindergarten classrooms’ worth!). At our William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital – ranked #1 in the region by U.S. News & World Report – we offer new moms a wide range of patient-centered services, including spacious labor and delivery suites, chef-prepared meals, and, if needed, private neonatal intensive care rooms.

We also provide state-of the-art surgical and nonsurgical care across the spectrum of gynecologic disorders. From comprehensive general care to specialized treatment for infertility, incontinence, and cancer of the female reproductive tract, our physicians specialize in caring for women like you.

No matter your age or stage in life, UT Southwestern’s obstetricians and gynecologists are here for you and dedicated to your best health.

We Wouldn't Choose Anywhere Else

Our obstetricians and gynecologists not only care for patients here but have been patients here themselves. These experts know that our unique ability to provide the most advanced and comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care makes UT Southwestern the absolute safest place to have a baby.

High-Risk Pregnancy

Our maternal-fetal medicine specialists are recognized for their obstetric care and management of women with high-risk pregnancies. If you have a high-risk pregnancy or develop a complication during your pregnancy, we have the expertise and experience to manage the tough cases. And we never lose focus on you and your concerns or take for granted the trust you have placed in us to care for you and your baby.

Among our most complex cases was the delivery of the Jones quintuplets in August 2012 at St. Paul University Hospital by Patricia Santiago-Muñoz, M.D., a specialist in high-risk pregnancies.

Among the Best in the United States

For more than 50 years, we’ve been recognized for our contributions to women’s health care and our commitment to the compassionate delivery of quality health care to all patients.

Our clinical programs are consistently ranked among the best in the United States, and our hospitals are ranked among the top in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area – underscoring our fundamental belief that both private and public clinical services can and must be done well. In addition, UT Southwestern has been designated a Mother-Friendly Worksite by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
