Biography
Stephanie Chang, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in the medical and surgical management of gynecologic issues such as uterine fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding.
Dr. Chang earned her medical degree at UT Southwestern, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, serving as Administrative Chief Resident her senior year.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2011.
Dr. Chang serves as Director of the UT Southwestern Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program. Her clinical practice is at Parkland Memorial Hospital, where she also oversees and teaches medical students, residents, and fellows. A member of several committees across the health system, she is Chair of the Medical Staff Credentialing Committee at Parkland and Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Graduate Medical Education Subcommittee at UT Southwestern. She has a special interest and experience in surgical education and peer coaching.
She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of professional associations including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics, and the Southwestern Gynecologic Assembly. In addition, she serves as a certifying examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Chang has delivered numerous presentations, served as an author for the book Williams Gynecology, and published peer-reviewed academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
Personal Note
When she’s not at work, Dr. Chang enjoys baking, gardening, traveling, and being outdoors.
