Biography
Dat Vo, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Radiation Oncology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Vo specializes in central nervous system cancer.
Dr. Vo received his B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin, and earned both his M.D. and Ph.D. at the University of Texas School of Medicine in San Antonio. He performed his internship at John Peter Smith Hospital, and his residency at UT Southwestern, where he served as Chief Resident.
Meet Dr. Vo
Dat Vo, M.D., Ph.D., a native of Fort Worth, joined the UT Southwestern faculty after completing his residency in radiation oncology at UT Southwestern.
His interests include post-transcriptional gene regulation, nucleic acid-based diagnostics and therapeutics, and clinical radiation oncology with a particular interest in central nervous system cancer.
“One of the most gratifying aspects of being a radiation oncologist is the relationships that I can cultivate with my patients," says Dr. Vo.
"Radiation therapy is a powerful treatment for cancer, but it is equally powerful to be there alongside my patients—helping to guide them through this tough time in their lives. Moreover, I have the opportunity to work and collaborate with many professionals, including neuro-oncology, neurosurgery, and neuropsychology, to give our patients the care and expertise they need. At UT Southwestern, we are fortunate to have great clinicians that are dedicated to central nervous system cancer, offering exceptional cancer care and clinical trials investigating novel strategies and modalities for fighting cancer. Lastly, as a native of Fort Worth, it has been a special honor and privilege to come home and care for patients in North Texas.”
